What does this session involve?
The power of intention is very important, and Deborah will guide the group so that each participant can find the best intention to bring to their "breathe".
Those who haven't experienced this practice before, will be guided. Most clients lie down, although the breathwork journey can be experienced sitting for those who prefer.
Those who are new to this practice are given the option to have a shorter first breathe (20-30 minutes).
Most clients will enjoy 45-60 minutes of the practice to gently build energy, meet and integrate old patterns, and to receive the nourishment of breath. There will be relaxation period after the practice, to rest, sleep, integrate (longer for the beginners). At the end there will be an opportunity to share for those who wish.
Music is sometimes played to enhance the
breathe experience.
Breathwork can be very powerful, it takes us to altered states of consciousness, bring energy into the body, and can take us into areas of greater aliveness and creativity. That energy may also touch issues from childhood, so sometimes things are going to come up for processing, perhaps even in the couple of days after a breathwork session. In the breath journey, we use the breath to safely integrate such material. In the Breathwork traditions that I have trained with, we take clients into that process gently, and will show you how to go at your own pace so that you feel more in control of your process and empowered rather than feeling pushed in any way, and of course if you want to move more energy in the breathe then you will also be shown how to do that; you are in the driving seat. It’s a process that changes from breathe journey to breath journey. Depending on the intention we bring to the session, and the intention we have for our lives, the body/mind's unconscious intelligence, knows exactly where we need to go on each journey we take with this amazing Conscious Connected Breath practice.
In all sessions you will be guided to find the right choice of breath to support the experience you wish for. Nose vs mouth breathing, longer exhalation, for example can affect the intensity of the experience, and we can work to create a more relaxing or a more energising "breathe". In addition to the power of the breath, we work with intention, and before the journey you have the option to share your intention with the group. During the journey there is also the option to receive the support of safe touch - you will always be asked beforehand and will also be given the choice to have no touch or change your mind. The whole process is deeply trauma informed so that you can feel safe to let go into your journey.
When we take responsibility for what arises, it’s amazing to become the creator and not the victim in our lives, knowing that we can keep the life flowing rather than becoming stuck in an old story about how bad life is for example; In life it can feel easier to stay comfortable with our pain and old stories , but life can be so much better than that, it can be inspiring and it really can become a choice as to how we wish to live. Breathwork is all about self-responsibility and self-mastery in this way, and is truly empowering.
I laid down and made myself comfortable. Deborah guided us on how to breathe. Music was playing in the background and soon enough I found myself on a wave of energy and tingling sensations in my hands and lower arms. When it was time to stop the Breathwork, I didn't want the sensations to go. Afterwards I felt relaxed, calm and energised. Who would of thought breathing can make you feel so good!
